Our History

• In 1985 Nephco negotiated the design and build of a 9 station unit at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh and since then has undertaken the following:
• 1992 Upgrade and installation of 6 further positions for East Birmingham Satellite Unit.
• 1993 Installation of central water plant for St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington without any disruption to the patient treatment rotas.
• 1994 The design and build of a satellite unit for Charing Cross Hospital : Prime consultant for a new clean water system for Ninewells Hospital, Dundee : Design and build of a 16 bed main renal unit for St Georges Hospital, London : Installation of new clean water plant for St Lukes Hospital, Bradford : Design and build of a 15 station renal unit for Northwick Park Hospital, Harrow.
• 1995 Awarded single tender design and build turnkey contracts – 10 bed unit at Weston General Hospital and 15 bed unit at Royal United Hospital, Bath.
• Between 1995 and 2000, Nephco Ltd designed and built units in Ealing, Ashford, Walsall, Guernsey, Bognor Regis, Watford, Southampton, Aberystwyth, Chester, Reading and London varying from hospital environments to projects at The Steam Mill in Chester, a disused warehouse in North London and The Old Maid’s Home of the Royal Berkshire Hospital – a Grade II listed building.
• 2000 The first Guy’s & St Thomas’s NHS Trust satellite unit in SE London for Gambro Healthcare, followed by an 18 bed unit in Basingstoke and a refurbishment of their Rotherham unit.
• 2001 A 15 bed unit in Cannock as a satellite for New Cross Hospital and the refurbishment of a ward in Crawley Hospital for Gambro Healthcare as well as increasing the number of beds at Ninewells Hospital.
• 2003 The design and build of a further unit for Gambro Healthcare at Southmead Hospital, Bristol.
• 2004 Nephco Ltd was awarded two NHS contracts – one to expand the existing unit at Ealing Hospital and the other, a design and building contact in South London for Guy’s & St Thomas’s NHS Trust. Nephco also extended Portsmouth Hospital’s Totton unit and installed a new pure water system for Southmead Hospital.
• 2005 Development of an Acute Renal Ward for Royal Berkshire Hospital and the design and build of a second 20 bed satellite unit for Guy’s & St Thomas’s NHS Trust completed in 2006 after which Nephco Ltd was invited back to Guernsey to fit out a new temporary unit.
• 2007 Nephco Ltd undertook the complete refurbishment of an existing renal unit at Victoria Hospital, Accrington for Gambro Healthcare and the design and build of a new 6 bed modular unit at Ninewells Hospital for Tayside NHS Trust.
• 2008 Nephco Ltd completed 3 satellite units for B Braun Avitum (UK) Ltd in Frome, Yeovil and Taunton as well as a 20 bed unit in Wandsworth for Euromedic (UK) Ltd. We are on schedule to complete a 28 bed unit in Tunbridge Wells for the Guys & St Thomas Foundation Trust (GSTFT).
  Nephco is currently working on other projects for Euromedic (UK) Ltd and the GSTFT.
